NAPPANEE – Omer S. Mullet, age 82, of Etna Green, died peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2025, at 8:45 a.m.
Omer was born to Stephen B. and Barbara Chupp Mullet on April 24, 1943, in Kosciusko County. On Nov. 26, 1964, Omer married Clara Yoder in Nappanee. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Omer is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Clara Mullet, of Nappanee; eight children, five sons: Merlin (Mary Lou) Mullet, of Nappanee; Lamar (Carla) Mullet, of Etna Green; Omer Lee (Karen) Mullet, of Leesburg; Vernon (Rosetta) Mullet, of Etna Green; and John Earl (Suzetta) Mullet, of Etna Green; three daughters: Laura Jean (David) Hochstetler, of Nappanee; Linda Mullet, of Nappanee; and Norma (Jason) Slabaugh, of Syracuse; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; six siblings, two brothers, Paul Mullet, of Leesburg; and Steven S. Mullet, of Elkhart; four sisters: Fern Mullet, of Nappanee; Carol Mullet, of Bremen; Sue (John) Yoder, of Nappanee; and Rosemary Mullet, of Bremen; and one sister-in-law, Mary Loue Mullet, of Etna Green. Omer was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Anthony Wayne Mullet; two brothers, Merlin Mullet and Allen S. Mullet; and three sisters-in-law: Anna Mae Mullet, Rosemary Mullet and Cammi Mullet.
Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 and all day on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Duane Miller residence, 6697 W. CR 800N Nappanee. A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, also at the Duane Miller residence. Bishop Vernon Schmucker will officiate along with Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish Church. Burial will take place in Graber Cemetery.
