Oliver "Fred" Beyer, 85, of 6511 E. Pierceton Road, Pierceton, died at 5:45 a.m. March 4, 2007, in his residence.

He was born March 16, 1921, in Warsaw, to Harold and Zelpha Crain Beyer. His wife, Joyce Beyer, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Beyer.

A lifetime Pierceton resident, he was a self-employed farmer, a member of American Legion Post 49 and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Also surviving are a son, Dan (and wife Marlene) Hoffer, Warsaw; a daughter, Mrs. Ty (Zelpha) Robinson, Pierceton; a son-in-law, Dan Campbell, Pierceton; two stepsons, Mike (and wife Gloria) Miner and Steve (and wife Sandy) Miner, all of Pierceton; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Doug (Mary) Robinson, Warsaw, and Mrs. Bill (Diana) Stump, Pierceton; four grandchildren: Gail Walters and Angie Patrick, both of Pierceton; Ithica Gainey, Warsaw; and Olivia Donovan, Missouri; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gail Beyer; a daughter, Sherry Campbell; and a brother, Jackson Beyer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Jim Baughman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
