Olive May Hope, 90, Warsaw, formerly of Sweetser, died Dec. 7, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born July 11, 1926, in Prairie Creek to Elmer and Edna Shoemaker Hayworth. She married Charles “Charlie” Hope on Feb. 19, 1948, in Terre Haute. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2008. After graduating from Prairie Creek High School and marrying Charlie, they moved and lived the remainder of their lives in Sweetser. She was a homemaker and supporter of the sports teams at Oak Hill High School where Charlie was a math teacher until 1988. Since his passing in 2008, she was a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living in Warsaw. She was a former member of Grace Community Church, Marion. She was a seamstress, home cook, and loved watching sports on television. Together they took an annual fishing trip to Minnesota, and later in their lives traveled to Florida for the winters. At Miller’s, she was an active card player with other residents. She is survived by her nephew Bruce (Stacy) Hope, Warsaw, who provided love and support since Charlie’s passing. Other survivors include Brent Hope, Chicago; Erika Mungovan and Ian Hope, both of Fort Wayne; as well many other extended family members of the Hope and Hayworth families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charlie; a sister, Clara Drake; and brothers Harry and Cloyde. Visitation be at noon Monday at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw, and services will begin an hour later at 1 p.m. A brief burial service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. at the Grant Memorial Park mausoleum chapel, 1606 West 26th St., Marion.
