Do you remember when the oil price per barrel was skyrocketing in the middle of 2008? When the price hit a new high of $100 a barrel it was $2.99 at the pump. Today it is $34.98 a barrel and is $1.94 at the pump.
Proportionally speaking, it should be $1.05. Hmmmmmm.
