Two Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies recently were recognized by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute for continued service in the field of drug recognition. Detective Sgt. Shane Bucher and Cpl. Mike Fowler were honored with both equipment and service awards at a recent training conference in Indianapolis to recertify as drug recognition experts. Bucher was presented with a 10-year service award for his service to the field, and Fowler was presented a five-year service award for his service to the field. Both deputies were presented with equipment valued over $1,000 to continue to provide the services of a drug recognition expert to the Kosciusko County area.
