Obama & Abortion

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

Last evening, Saturday, Pastor Rick Warren asked Senator Obama, "When is a baby entitled to human rights?" The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee was given an excellent chance to defend his strong pro-abortion voting record. Rather than standing up for what he believes, he flippantly said "to answer that question would be above my pay grade."

As a state senator and as a U.S. Senator, Obama owes his constituents in Illinois an explanation for why he constantly votes to end life in the womb. Abortion has been a heated moral, social, and political issue for more than 40 years. Anyone running for the offices Obama has held and is seeking should be able to clearly defend their position.

Back when Democrats owned back bones, Harry S. Truman said "The buck stops here." Obama has proved that he is too much of a manipulating coward to even touch "the buck."
