Winona Lake and North Webster have Christmas tree-lighting ceremonies set for Saturday.
The North Webster tree-lighting ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Emily Shipley, North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce president, said stores in downtown North Webster will be doing specials like free hot chocolate and free apple cider. From 3 to 6 p.m. along Washington Street, local Girl Scouts will be doing a craft, and Cub Scouts are doing a game. Santa Claus will be at the red brick fire house starting at 3 p.m.
There will also be a lighted ATV and truck parade through town at 5:45 p.m.
Live entertainment will be at Pilcher's on the lawn every 15 minutes from 5 to 6:15 p.m. There will be a community sing-along at 6:15 p.m.
The Christmas tree will be lit up at 6:30 p.m. at 127 S. Main St., suite D, North Webster. The trees and lighting poles will be turned Saturday and will remain lit through the holiday season.
Shipley said this is the sixth year the Chamber has put on the tree-lighting ceremony after there was a break for several years. She said she hopes families, friends and community members come together for the event and have a good time.
In The Village at Winona, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, there will be a Toys for Tots collection, kids’ ornament making at Brick Alley Pavilion, train rides for all ages in the Letterwood brick paver parking lot and Christmas carolers throughout the Village.
From 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., there will be free cookies and hot chocolate and Santa Claus will make a visit. The tree-lighting ceremony will be at 6:15 p.m. at the Village Christmas tree next to Letterwood.
As admission into the event, bring a new and unwrapped toy to be donated to Toys for Tots.
