NORTH WEBSTER – Barefoot Cottage is a charming furniture and home décor shop nestled in the heart of North Webster, serving the surrounding community since 2023.
The store celebrated with a ribbon cutting Friday, along with the North Webster-Tippecanoe Chamber of Commerce.
Owner Jo Mishler originally operated her shop in Pierceton for two years before recently relocating to its current North Webster location.
The store is a treasure trove of both new and used furniture, offering a unique mix of home décor, antique pieces, handmade organic soaps and candles, wax melts and gifts. Barefoot Cottage embraces the beauty of restoration, providing furniture restoration services and custom engraving to give well-loved pieces new life.
“This is what I love to do,” Mishler said of her restoration work.
In addition to restoration, the business offers antique furniture repair, custom-built furniture, interior design, remodeling, interior painting, epoxy work and repurposing services.
Barefoot Cottage also provides property management and home staging, making it a versatile resource for homeowners.
“We offer a comprehensive range of design services, including personalized space planning, décor selection and styling tailored to each unique property’s needs,” Mishler said.
Mishler works alongside her daughter, Darien Todd, a licensed Realtor, combining design expertise with real estate insight.
The shop features a wide variety of furniture and one-of-a-kind items, including artwork from local artists.
“I have art from local artists,” Mishler said. “If I don’t have it, I will find it.”
