North Webster Man Allegedly Battered Girlfriend, Threw Her Son Through DoorA North Webster man is facing charges after allegedly kicking his girlfriend out of a house and throwing her minor son through a screen door.
Cody Jacob Felger, 37, of 49 EMS W19 Lane, North Webster, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 2:52 p.m. Friday and faces charges for battery to a person less than 14 years of age by a person at least 18 years of age, a Level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Feb. 11 in Kosciusko Superior Court III, at 9:31 p.m. Jan. 2 Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a house in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, police spoke with a woman who said her boyfriend – Felger – lives at the home and that she and her son were there visiting.
She said that while they were there, an argument began and Felger told her to leave. As she began gathering her items, according to court papers, Felger took her stuff and threw it out of the home and pushed her.
At that point, the woman’s son told Felger to not touch the woman, and that is when Felger allegedly walked over the child, threatened to beat him up and then threw him out of the home through the screen door.
Police observed the screen door was noticeably damaged, according to the affidavit.
When police spoke with Felger, he denied pushing or throwing the child out the door and instead accused the woman of punching him in the eye.
The woman allegedly admitted to punching him in the face, saying she only did that after he threw her son, according to court papers.
Felger’s bond was set at $5,250, and a no-contact order was put in place.
According to court records, Felger is facing felony charges in a different case from an incident Oct. 5 at an area business where Felger became enraged he had to move his vehicle and allegedly pulled a gun on a man before speeding off.
Felger denied doing that to police, according to court papers in that case, but he was arrested and charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony; pointing a firearm, a Level 6 felony; and intimidation, a Class A misdemeanor.
