The biennial North Manchester Garden Tour has become inspiration for gardeners, nature lovers and all who appreciate the serenity of the outdoors. It has earned a reputation as being both soothing and invigorating. It is a day filled with blooms, exotic plants, creative design, garden art, butterflies, birds and fellowship. The “Welcome to My Garden” tour is intended to cater to those who wish to enjoy a leisurely stroll through unique and charming gardens, or those who wish to garner inspiration for their own garden projects, stated the release.
The 2025 garden walk is hosted by Manchester Alive’s America in Bloom (AIB) committee and will begin at the Eel River Town Gardens located adjacent to the Lutheran Church at 113 W. Main St., North Manchester. This year the tour features seven distinctive gardens located in North Manchester and the surrounding area.
The tour begins just west of the Eel River Gardens at the historic home of James & Debbie Chinworth with its array of trees, sprawling perennial beds and view of the Eel River.
Next, guests are invited to the Timbercrest Senior Living campus and the neighborhood home of David Doudt & Kim Ebersole to view the creative and serene gardens which enhance their home. Guests will then want to visit the Timbercrest Courtyard Gardens and stroll this quiet outdoor space with its colorful flowering beds. The tour continues at the home of Barry & Kathy Blocher where guests will enjoy the parklike setting of this stately home with its trees, views and gardens.
From here, guests will travel to Metzger Landscaping & Event Center to visit the wedding barn with its charming amenities and lovely courtyard gardens. The final two stops on the tour are west of North Manchester at the country homes of Tom & Shirley Bucher and Butch & Diana Iden.
Both homeowners have created garden spaces that are unique in their own design with spacious garden beds, original design features and restful country views. All of these gardens were inspired with love for gardening and creating spaces of beauty for family and friends to enjoy.
The America in Bloom committee gives special thanks to all the garden hosts who shared their gardens with them this year.
