Norman D. Clay

Norman D. Clay, 81, Warsaw, passed peacefully in the presence of family at 6:50 p.m. Oct. 8, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born July 10, 1932, in Claypool to Dorotha B. Parker and Wallace Clay, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 12, 1949, in Valparaiso he married Nora Irene Walls of Pierceton, who survives.
He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1950. An avid hunter, golfer and outdoorsman, he also enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, watching Notre Dame football and Indiana University basketball with family. He was a former member of the local Elks lodge and a local coyote-hunting club. He spent the majority of his adult life self-employed, owning and operating Clay’s Mobile Home Service, later Gambie’s Pizza, and farming as many as 80 acres, finally retiring in 1999.
Also surviving are two brothers, Robert and John W. Clay, both of Warsaw; two daughters, Beth Ann Collins, Fort Wayne, and Lin Jones, Warsaw; a son, Tony Clay, Warsaw; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be conducted. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
