SYRACUSE - Norma F. Rush, 88, of Syracuse, died at 12:10 p.m. June 10, 2010, at Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.

She was born April 16, 1922, in Mansfield, Ohio, to William E. and Mildred McGregor Fowler. On April 17, 1949, in North Manchester, she married Paul A. Rush, who survives.

She was a lifetime Wabash and Kosciusko County area resident. She graduated from Roann High School in 1940, and from Manchester College in 1944.

She retired in 1982 from Wawasee Community School Corp. as an English, Spanish and Latin teacher. She formerly taught at Mentone, Milford, Larwill, Pierceton and Rochester schools. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Syracuse; United Methodist Women; PEO; Retired Teachers Association; Delta Kappa Gamma; and Ladies of the Round Table.

Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Ann (and spouse Patrick) Harding, West Lafayette, and Barbara Rush, Indianapolis; a son, William (and spouse Deborah) Rush, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Margaret Martin, Fife Lake, Mich.

A private graveside service will be at Mentone Cemetery. A memorial service will be at a later date.
