Norbert E. Gabet, 84, of Syracuse, died Oct. 20, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born April 15, 1927, in New Haven, to Joseph and Theresa Vashon Gabet. On Aug. 17, 1957, he married Jean Doege, who survives in Syracuse. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. He belonged to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Also surviving are a son, David (and spouse Theresa) Gabet, Cromwell; a sister, Ruthann Gingery, Garrett. He was preceded in death by one son; seven brothers; and one sister. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, with Father Ed Erpelding officiating.
