No Injuries In Tuesday House Fire In Syracuse

SYRACUSE – No injuries were reported from a Syracuse fire Tuesday afternoon, but damage to the home is estimated by the Turkey Creek Fire Territory to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire department responded to a call about a fire at 10322 N. Grand Blvd., Syracuse, at about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The structure is owned by KRE Assets LLC, 1 Industrial Drive, Cromwell.

Upon arrival, firefighters learned the fire involved a building on an island with a pedestrian bridge, according to a news release from the fire territory.





Firefighters determined no one was inside the home.

The fire was brought under control by 2:31 p.m. Damages were estimated to be about $90,000, according to the release.

There were no reported injuries to firefighters. Crews remained at the scene until about 6 p.m.

The Turkey Creek Fire Territory was assisted by the North Webster Fire Department, the Benton Township Fire Department, the Ligonier Fire Department, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, the Kosciusko County Squad 70 Fire Investigation Team and the American Red Cross. The Milford Fire Department was placed on standby.
