No Fear

A lot of people fear death, because it is something we have never experienced. The unknown is always a scary thing. But if we are obsessed by that fear it is probably because we have never settled the "sin issue" in our life and we know that we are not ready to meet our Maker, God. We were created by God in His image with a hollow, empty void deep within our souls that was meant to be filled by fellowship with him. Some people search their whole life trying to fill that empty void with all sorts of things (drugs, sex, food, material possessions and etc.) to no avail. They only satisfy for a season. How sad! The Bible says "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."(Hebrews 9:27)

There is no second chance after death, no reincarnation! If we believe God's word, when we die we will either go to Heaven (to be with God eternally) or hell (a place of eternal punishment set aside for satan and his followers). You might ask "why would a loving God send people to hell?" The truth is, He doesn't, we send ourselves there when we refuse to accept God's provision for us, Jesus' death on the cross for our sins. The Bible says "no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me" meaning through Jesus' sinless, perfect sacrifice on the cross, in our place, for our sins. (John 14:6, Hebrews 9:28) We are not saved by good works, not by church attendance, and etc., although these are good things, they do not earn us a place in Heaven, but only by accepting Jesus' death on the cross for our sins.

It is not earned or deserved, it is a "free gift" through God's grace (unmerited, undeserving favor). (Ephesians 2:8,9) The Bible says "Death is swallowed up in victory," death has lost its sting. (I Corinthians 15:51-58) It also says "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." This does not mean there will be no suffering before we diem but God knows how much we can bear. If you are afraid of dying, why not ask Jesus to come into your heart today and to forgive you of your sins and to help you live your life for Him. Life is short and we know not when our time will be no more! Settle the sin issue once and for all! "There will be no judgment or condemnation for those who have been washed by the blood of Jesus!" (John 5:24, Romans 8:1)

No more reason to fear death!
