Editor, Times-Union: In his speech president Obama told us that our planes had flown 8400 sorties over the areas controlled by ISIS. He neglected to mention that no bombs had been dropped by those planes on the oil wells controlled by ISIS from which they obtain over 500 million dollars. He also failed to tell us that the trucks that carry that oil and that return with supplies for ISIS were not bombed by our planes. Those planes flying over ISIS do not harm them – this is only a photo-op exercise that he is having done so that he can claim that he is fighting terrorism. Since France and Britain have entered the fray they are bombing the oil wells and trucks that we won’t. The Kurds are the only real ground force fighting against ISIS and Britain is supplying the Kurds with armaments and weapons to fight ISIS since we won’t. We really are not trying to defeat ISIS President Obama is too busy trying to get control of our guns and saving our planet from the supposed dangers of climate change to destroy ISIS as he promised.
