MILFORD – Nelson J. Morehouse, 96, of Syracuse, died at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 12, 2013. He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Goshen, to Samuel Guy and Lydia Rowdabaugh Morehouse. On Aug. 16, 1942, he married Betty Josephine Pinkerton, who died in 1972. He was a lifetime resident who worked as an installer for Overhead Door and also was a farmer. He was a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren. Surviving are one son, Tom Morehouse, Milford; one daughter, Carolyn (and spouse Blake) Baumgartner; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille (and spouse Richard) Evans, and Louise (and spouse Edwin) Meek, both of Goshen; four brothers: Glen (and spouse Vera) Morehouse, Milford, John (and spouse Marion) Morehouse, Goshen, Eldon (and spouse Louise) Morehouse, Muncie, and Dean (and spouse Eleanor), New Paris. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, Everett and Herb Morehouse; a grandson; and daughter-in-law. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, with the Rev.
