“Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.” - Charles Spurgeon
We have a direct line to God at our disposal every second of every day. God never sleeps, is always waiting. The creator of the universe, is so big but yet stoops down to us. As small as ants, we are, and yet he sees us, he hears us.
President Harry Truman signed a bill on April 17, 1952, proclaiming a National Day of Prayer. This is always held on the first Thursday in May. Interestingly, General George Washington, commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, acknowledged a day of “fasting, humiliation and prayer” proclaimed by the Continental Congress to be held on Thursday, May 6, 1779.
Thursday, May 7, there will be an event at noon at Rodeheaver Auditorium. I have gone to this for the last three years, I encourage as many people as can make it to attend. Our nation needs us to humbly seek God. Pride will strongarm us and keep us away from the power of God. I pray for us to come together in unity, and pray for our leaders, our schools, our military, our neighbors, our nation.
Hope to see you there.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
