Posted

ELKHART COUNTY - A Nappanee man was injured Monday morning when his vehicle went off the road and flipped into a small pond.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash news release, a 2007 Buick LaCrosse, driven by Shaun Cochrane, 36, Nappanee, was traveling south on CR 29 at about 6 a.m. Monday, going through the intersection of CR 52. Cochrane failed to maintain his lane, passing over into the northbound lane. When he attempted to get the LaCrosse back into the southbound lane, Cochrane lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road, hit a fence, flipped and came to rest in a small pond.
Cochrane complained of left arm pain.
The investigating officer was not able to speak to Cochrane at the scene due to Cochrane being transported for his injuries, the release states.
The vehicle sustained damage all over.
Cochrane was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The report states the accident is being investigated by the Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team and no enforcement actions have been taken at this time. Drugs and alcohol tests are still pending.
