SYRACUSE - Nancy Carolyn Anderson, 77, of Leesburg, died at 8 a.m. Oct. 16, 2008, in her residence.
She was born March 19, 1931, in Marion, to Rowland and Gertrude Palmer Hill. On March 28, 1953, she married Jerry Anderson, who survives.
She was a Tippecanoe Lake summer resident since 1957, moving there permanently in 1999, coming from Kokomo. She was a homemaker and a kindergarten teacher. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1949, and Purdue University in 1953, with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a member of Tri Kappa Greek Club, Kokomo; Pi Beta Phi sorority, where she founded the Kokomo alumni association; Tippecanoe Lake Country Club; and a member of chapter BW of the PEO Sisterhood, Kokomo, and demitted to chapter EJ, Syracuse, when she moved there in 1999. She loved playing Bridge and belonged to several Bridge clubs in the area.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kathy (and spouse Mark) Clary, Winona Lake; two sons, Jim (and spouse Mary) Anderson, Rochester, and Tom (and spouse Joan) Anderson, Leesburg; and five grandchildren, Courtney Clary, and Jon, Melissa, Stephanie and Joe Anderson.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with Pastor Dennis Wilson officiating.
Calling is two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
