A North Manchester man died after his pickup struck a tree early Saturday morning.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information?Officer Sgt. Chris Francis, first responders were called at 2:28 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Country Club Road and CR 200S in Wayne Township for a report of a single-vehicle collision.
Preliminary results of the investigation revealed Anthony Sumner, 51, of North Manchester, was driving a 2014 Ram 1500 pickup truck east on CR 200S and failed to stop at Country Club Road.
The pickup struck a tree on the east side of the intersection.
Sumner was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the KCSO Fatal Team, Francis said.
Responding agencies included KCSO, Winona Lake Police Department, Lutheran EMS, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
