Editor, Times-Union: Mourdock made a statement that enraged some of you and encouraged others. There is no need to clarify or defend that statement as I understood where he was coming from and exactly what he meant. Twist it if you like. However you felt, at least it is the first bit of “honesty” I have heard on the issues form anyone. I have to admire his guts and conviction. Plain and simple, life is life, abortion is murder. Only to save the life of the mother is acceptable reason for such a procedure. Surgery is to save lives, not take them away. Mourdock, you got me where it counts – “honesty.” Diane M.
