Mobile Mammograms And Lung Cancer Screenings Coming To Mentone May 14

MENTONE – Residents of Mentone and surrounding communities will have access to life-saving cancer screenings during a Mobile Screening Event on Thursday, May 14 at the Mentone Fire Department, 201 W. Main St., Mentone.
The event will offer:
• Mobile mammograms from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Lung cancer screenings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Who should consider screening:
• Mammograms
o Women ages 40+ who have not had a screening in the past year
• Lung screening (must meet all requirements)
o Adults age 50 to 77
o Current or former smokers (must have quit within the past 15 years)
o History of smoking at least 20 pack-years (1 pack/day for 20 years or 2 packs/day for 10 years)
Screenings are available by appointment or walk-ins if slots are available. To schedule:

• Call 317-962-5864 for lung cancer screenings
This event is coordinated by Live Well Kosciusko, bringing together screening providers like IU Health and Parkview Health at one central location will help expand access to preventative care services to the community.
“We encourage anyone who is eligible to take advantage of this opportunity. These screenings can make a real difference and having them here locally removes a lot of barriers people face,” said Jill Gross, Mentone Town Council member.
Breast and lung cancer are among the most common cancers affecting Hoosiers. Regular screenings can significantly improve outcomes. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
