Missing Syracuse Teen Found In Florida SYRACUSE – After a four-month long investigation by the Syracuse Police Department, 14-year-old Aaliyah Ramirez was found Friday in the area of Lake Worth Beach, Palm Beach County, Fla., by U.S. Marshals as they saw her entering a vehicle.
With the assistance of Palm Beach County deputies, they were able to safely recover Ramirez, according to a news release from the Syracuse Police Department. A short time later, Ramirez’s grandmother, Elizabeth Sands, 47, Palm Beach County, Fla., and aunt, Allissa Sands, 25, Marion County, Ind., were taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals and deputies on arrest warrants out of Kosciusko County for interference with custody, a Level 6 felony, and false informing, a misdemeanor. They are now awaiting extradition back to Indiana.
The Syracuse Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Indiana State Police, National Center for Exploited and Missing Children, U.S. Marshals Service, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
