Missing Child Safely Found In North Manchester

WABASH COUNTY - A missing child in North Manchester was found Wednesday after a three-hour search.
According to a news release from the Indiana State Police (ISP), at approximately 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, members of the ISP Peru Post, ISP Fort Wayne Post, Wabash County Sheriff's Office, Wabash City Police Department, Lafountain town marshal, Wabash City Fire Department, Wabash City EMS, Wabash County EMA, multiple volunteer fire departments, Indiana Conservation, Duke Energy, Grant County Sheriff's Office, Wabash County REMC and several community members responded to the area of CR 1300N and CR 300W, North Manchester, for a report of a missing child.
After approximately a three-hour search using an ISP helicopter, several K9 units, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), and several ground units, the child was safely found in a nearby cornfield. The child was treated at the scene and released to the family.
The ISP and Wabash County Sheriff's Office thanks everyone who provided resources and assistance locating the child.
