Misses Hine

I'm writing to tell you about a person that I admired, loved and will miss very much. That person was Roy Hine. He was a great artistic director at the Wagon Wheel Theater. His unexpected death was a surprise to all that knew him.

Six and a half years ago Roy gave me my first opportunity to perform on the Wagon Wheel stage in "The Miracle Worker." I was only 7 years old and only in one scene, but I loved it! After that I looked forward to auditioning for Roy for "kid parts." My favorite role was playing Annie for the Christmas show four years ago.

Even though I was only 9 years old, Roy had faith in me. He taught me everything I know about theater.

Roy wasn't afraid to tell you what you needed to work on or how you could improve.

He loved all the people he worked with, and loved what he did. He expected the best from everyone, and in return he would always give his very best.

It has been an honor to have worked with him! I will always admire, love, respect and appreciate Roy Hine.

He will be missed very, very much by not only me, but many people.

I am blessed to be a part of "Cinderella" this Christmas season. I hope you will come and support a wonderful show that I know Roy would be proud of. It's going to be hard to open the show without Roy here with us, but I know Roy would have wanted the show to go on!
