Milo W. "Mike" Klingerman, 77, of Warsaw, died of natural causes at 3:18 p.m. April 21, 2007, in Veterans' Administration's Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne Division.

He was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Claypool, to Morgan and Vada C. Stanton Klingerman. On Dec. 23, 1950, in Elkhart, he married Lila Hale, who preceded him in death.

He was raised in Claypool and attended schools there. The couple lived briefly in Maryland prior to moving to the Indianapolis area. He served his country in the U.S. Army from July 1951 to July 1953. He was on active duty during the Korean War. Prior to raising his family, he was a stock car racer and an auto body repair and painting shop owner. He has always enjoyed cars and following NASCAR and the Indianapolis 500 races. He was a longtime caregiver to his mother and great aunt Lulu Stanton. He was an accomplished acoustic guitar player. He was a member of American Legion Post 74 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Indianapolis.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Sue Curtis, Big Pine, Calif.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Richard (Stephanie M.) Simpson, Big Pine, and Mrs. Kenneth (Melissa L.) Sexton, Wilkerson, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ward Klingerman; a daughter, Pamela June Klingerman; and two brothers, Vern and Raymond Klingerman.

No services or calling are planned. Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.

Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.
