MILFORD – Milford Food Bank announced it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Interra Cares Foundation.
This gift will support the construction of Milford Food Bank’s new facility, designed to better serve its network of food pantries, community kitchens, shelters and churches. The Interra Cares Foundation is dedicated to empowering lives through financial inclusion, supporting programs that help individuals reduce financial stress, make informed choices and build secure futures, according to a news release from the Milford Food Bank.
“We are so grateful for the support of the Interra Cares Foundation,” said Angie Deak, Milford Food Bank development manager. “This grant is helping us take next steps in building a facility that will allow us to more effectively serve organizations working every day to fight hunger in Michiana.”
The new facility is expected to be completed by spring 2026. It will expand Milford Food Bank’s ability to receive, package, store and distribute food to its partners, ensuring that local families have access to food and essential needs, the release states.
Milford Food Bank is a faith-based nonprofit food bank that aims to be the hands and feet of Jesus and rescues bulk food to distribute at no charge to its partners. This provides essential support to local and regional food pantries, community kitchens, schools, churches and recovery homes that care and provide for individuals and families facing food insecurity.
