WALKERTON - Michael R. Shortt, 44, of Pierceton, and formerly of Tyner, died of natural causes at 7:40 a.m. May 25, 2008, in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born Aug. 28, 1963, in Oakland, Calif., to David Paul and Ruth Mary Garland Shortt, who survive in Tyner.
He was a boilermaker for Aqua Store Southwest Inc. He was a 1981 John Glenn High School graduate.
Also surviving are a son, Justin Thomas Leo Shortt, Nappanee; a granddaughter; four brothers: Steven Paul (and spouse Jamie) Shortt, Fish Lake; Kenneth Dale (and spouse Rhonda) Shortt, Walkerton; Ronald David Shortt, Leesburg; and Gregory Dennis (and spouse Kim) Shortt, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by four grandparents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Banley & Sons Funeral Home, Walkerton. Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
