Michael “Mike” Kent Burris, 70, Silver Lake, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Oct. 28, 2015, in Greenfield. He was born March 15, 1945, in Tipton, to Vernon Leon and Betty Ellen Roe Burris. On Dec. 31, 1966, he married Patricia Kay Jontz, who passed away Oct. 2, 2005. He was a 1964 graduate of Northfield High School, Wabash. On Oct. 18, 1965, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked as a draftsman designer for 33 years at Zollner Corporation, Fort Wayne. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 43 years and a member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster. Surviving are a son, Adam (and spouse Julie) Burris, Greenfield; two daughters, Emily Hemmer, Silver Lake, and Janel (and spouse Greg) Boer, Scotts, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Terry Leon Burris, Fort Wayne.
