SYRACUSE – Michael Eugene Byrd, 65, Syracuse, passed away at 9:40 a.m. June 2, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse. He was born Oct. 3, 1950, in Elkhart, to Archie O. and Miriam A. Pfeffley Byrd. He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1970 from Wawasee High School, Syracuse. He previously worked at Millennium Industries, Ligonier, and Coachman Industries, Syracuse. He was a member of the NRA and an avid motorcycle fan. Surviving are a son, Tad Vandermark, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford E. Byrd. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Syracuse Cemetery, with Pastor Brad Cox, Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, officiating.
