NORTH MANCHESTER – Michael D. Aughinbaugh, 59, of North Manchester, died at 9:24 a.m. Feb. 15, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Wabash, to Duane and Melva Fultz Piper. On Nov. 20, 1970, he married Virginia L. Keirn, who survives. He was a heating and cooling contractor and had been a truck driver for the North Manchester and Chester Township fire departments, where he served as a volunteer firefighter. He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. Also surviving are a son, Bob (and spouse Tiann) Aughinbaugh, Huntington; a daughter, Michelle (and spouse Troy) Wilcoxson, Columbia City; his mother, Melva Gilbert, North Manchester; a brother, Steve Aughinbaugh, Texas; two sisters, Kris Marshall and Kay Aughinbaugh, both of North Manchester; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
