MUNCIE - Michael B. Gruppe, 50, of Muncie, died Oct. 21, 2010, in his residence, after a 16-month battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 3, 1960, in Muncie, to William H. and Dolores Burnett Gruppe.
He graduated from Muncie North Side High School and attended Ball State University. He worked as a real estate manager in the Muncie area for several years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and worked with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The family vacations at Tippecanoe Lake and are members of the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.
Surviving are his mother; two sisters, Debbie (and spouse Frank) Rutherford and Kathleen (and spouse Peter) Goebel; and a brother, Bill (and spouse Kris) Gruppe. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, Muncie.
