MENTONE – Michael A. King, 61, of 4929 S. CR 700W, Mentone, died at 5:25 a.m. Oct. 31, 2011, in his residence, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

He was born May 19, 1950, in Rochester, to Charles and Jeanette Hall King. On May 19, 1984, in Talma, he married Shelly K. Utter, who survives.

He was currently working as a bindery line operator at R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw, where he worked for 35 years. He graduated from Triton High School in 1968. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Vietnam from 1970-71). He was a member of American Legion, Warsaw. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle as well as golfing. He loved spending time with his granddaughter.

Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Dubbs, Mentone; a son, Chad (and spouse Sylvia) King, Plymouth; a granddaughter, Delanie Dubbs; his father, Charles (and spouse Faye) King, Bourbon; and a sister, Chris Boyer, Bourbon. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Rod Utter officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone, with military graveside rites by members of the American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
