NAPPANEE - Melodee Meeks Rosen, 60, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and formerly of Nappanee, died at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 2, 2008, in Elkhart General Hospital, after a long illness with bone cancer.

She was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Columbia, S.C., to Vern and Eloise Method Meeks, who survive in Nappanee.

She attended Nappanee High School, graduated from Dykes High School, Atlanta, Ga., and Indiana University, Bloomington, and did graduate work at American University, Washington, D.C. While at Indiana University, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and their music group "The Kappa Pickers" performed on many USO Tours in the United States and abroad. Her early career included program production at National Public Radio and modeling in Washington. Her later career was in commercial real estate and Ameriplan health plans. She was a member of Bob Coy's Calvary Chapel, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Also surviving are a sister, Melissa (and spouse Harry) Stackhouse, Indianapolis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown officiating. Burial will be in Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
