NAPPANEE - Maureen Mae Miller, 88, of 605 W. Market St., Nappanee, died at 12:05 a.m. April 6, 2010, in her daughter's residence in Rhinelander, Wis., after a year-long illness.
She was born Nov. 30, 1921, in Nappanee, to Jesse and Fern Schmeltzer Wiseman. On April 10, 1943, in Salinas, Calif., she married Harvey Miller Jr., who survives.
She was a 1939 Nappanee High School graduate, a homemaker and worked at Coppes Men's Clothing, Pletcher's Furniture Store, House Across the Street and Metzler Shoe Co., all in Nappanee. She was a member of GracePoint Presbyterian Church, where she served on the building committee for the current church building, participated in Ladies Circle groups and Women's Fellowship and was a Sunday school teacher when her children were young.
Also surviving are a daughter, Becky (and spouse Carl) Corey, Rhinelander, Wis.; a son, Kerry (and spouse Joanne) Miller, Jamestown, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at GracePoint Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Terry Tyler officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
