AKRON - Mattie Shay Leininger, 5, and Ashlee A. Leininger Pruitt, 2, of 6126 N. CR 825E, Mentone, Ashley died at 10:15 a.m. while Mattie died at 12:04 p.m. Jan. 8, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, following an automobile accident on CR 600S, west of CR 1300W near Mentone.
Mattie Shay was born Aug. 15, 2002, in Allen County. Ashlee was born Dec. 21, 2005, in Allen County.
Both Mattie Shay and Ashlee attended the Mentone United Methodist Church. Mattie Shay also attended Beaver Dam Preschool, Akron, and Book Buddies at the Bell Memorial Library, Mentone.
Surviving are parents Greg and Megihann Kinney Leininger, Mentone; a sister, Mariah; four brothers, Aaron, Seth, Michael and Canari (Gavin); grandparents, Kathi Tridle Kinney, Mentone, and David and Sally Leininger, Akron; aunts and uncles, Brandon and Rebecca Spitler, David and Jenny Bornmann and their girls and Gary and Heidi Leininger and their girls; and a great-grandmother, Vivian Overmyer, Akron.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Revs. Gail Law and Doris Smith officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
Calling is from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
