Mary M. Higgins, 79, of Warsaw, died at 8:50 a.m. Jan. 29, 2012, in Parkview Oaks, Columbia City.
She was born Feb. 21, 1932, in Fairmount, to Robert H. and Lillian O. Rhoades Davis. On Nov. 12, 1961, in Warsaw, she married Richard B. Higgins, who survives in Warsaw.
A Kosciusko resident for 51 years, she graduated from Leesburg High School in 1949 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church, American Cancer Society, Beta Sigma Phi, Red Hat Society and was active in card clubs.
Also surviving are a daughter, Suzan L. Higgins, Warsaw; a son, David E. Higgins, Winona Lake; and two grandsons, Joshua B., Warsaw, and Benjamin E., Winona Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Martha Ross, Following her wishes, a celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. March 31 at Warsaw Wesleyan Church, Warsaw, with Pastors Gale Janofski and Andy Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
