Mary Louise Groninger

Mary Louise Groninger, 81, of rural Akron, died at 2:32 p.m. Sept. 22, 2012, in her residence.

She was born May 30, 1931, in Wabash County, to Roy L. and Faye M. Baker Clark. On Sept. 20, 1950, in North Manchester, she married Gordon L. Groninger, who survives.

She lived in the Fulton County area most of her life. She graduated from Chester Township High School, North Manchester, in 1950, where she was a cheerleader. She was a homemaker and worked at Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, and Akron Elementary School as a cook and drove a school bus for approximately 15 years. Early in her life she attended Akron United Methodist Church. She was a great shopper and loved to shop with her friends. She kept a nice home and her hands were full with four children to raise with her husband. She was always in the kitchen and loved to cook.

Also surviving are four children: Danny L. (and spouse Karen) Groninger and Gregory L. (and spouse Annette) Groninger, all of rural Akron; Nancy A. (and spouse Howard) Davies, Ross, Ohio; and Timothy L. Groninger, Fort Wayne; a sister, Sandra Heaston, Huntington; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gordon, Dewayne and Kenneth Clark; and four sisters, Virginia Curless, Donnabelle Hoffman, Jean Mylin and Helene Quick.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron. Burial will be at a later date.
