Mary L. Potts, 74, Pierceton, passed away at 12:45 a.m. April 5, 2016, in her residence. She was born June 21, 1941, in Michigan City, to Ross and Hilda Wanstrath Gosnell. Raised in Michigan City, she lived in Warsaw from 1965 to 1988. She then moved to Chardon, Ohio, in 1996 and then she returned to the Silver Lake area. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Michigan City, class of 1959. She had worked for Bowen Center for three years in data entry, was an account representative for Superior Auto and then worked for Barbee Hotel Bar and Grill. She was a member of Altrusa and Victory Rock Church, Pierceton, and she enjoyed knitting and reading. She is survived by two daughters, Christine (and spouse Michael) Coon, Warsaw, and Pamela S. Himes, Pierceton; a son, James David (and spouse Krisha) Potts, Syracuse; two brothers, George (and spouse Marge) Gosnell, Michigan City, and the Rev. David Gosnell, Westville; a sister, Betty Ahlers, Hamilton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Ross, Thomas, Jerry and John Gosnell; four sisters: Rose, Clare, Lois Ann Gosnell and Ellen Kermin; and a granddaughter. Services will be at noon Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor William Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
