Mary "Joann" Hughes, 58, of Silver Lake, went to be with her Lord at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 2, 2010, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 11, 1951, in Mingo County, W.Va., to Shorty and Susie Marcum Stroud. On Nov. 2, 1984, she married Carl Hughes, who survives.
She moved to Silver Lake from West Virginia 28 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, Silver Lake. She loved going to church; her family - especially her grandchildren; and her little Chihuahua dog, Coco. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and quilting.
Also surviving are three sons, Blake (and spouse Maegan) Hughes and Carl E. (and spouse Chryl) Hughes, all of Silver Lake, and Steve (and spouse Tina) Hughes, Claypool; a daughter, Ashley Hughes, Warsaw; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harman (and spouse Linda) Stroud, Jessie (and spouse Gusty) Stroud and Van (and spouse Easter) Stroud, all of Breeden, W.Va.; and James (and spouse Patty) Stroud, Belfry, Ky.; and four sisters: June (and spouse Raybun) Williams, Dunlow, W.Va.; Ruth (and spouse Walley) Miller, Corbin, Ky.; Martha (and spouse Tom) Madison, Leesburg; and Katheryn (and spouse Doug) Payne, Claypool; and her mother-in-Law, Lona Hughes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shorty and Susie Stroud; two brothers, Paul David and Willis Stroud; a sister, Eva Hughes; and her stepmother, Hessie Stroud.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, Silver Lake, with Evangelist Darell Peters, Greensburg, officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 p.m. Thursday to the time of service Friday at the church.
Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
