NORTH MANCHESTER - Mary Ellen Floor Smith, 84, of Peadbody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died at 1:08 a.m. Nov. 29, 2007, in her residence.
She was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Miami County, to Moses and Valura Nye Bahney. On Feb. 1, 1942, she married Harold Floor, who died May 5, 1972. On July 15, 1980, she married Claude Smith, who died July 2, 1995.
She worked at Burch's Corner Cupboard, North Manchester, for 11 years. She was the owner and operator of Mom's Restaurant from 1971 until her retirement in 1977. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Todd (and spouse Dianne) Floor and Lyle (and spouse Dian) Floor, both of North Manchester; two daughters, Tralane (and spouse Howard) Ruckman, Rochester, and Burdetta (and spouse Harry) Risher, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Guy Provance officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery.
Calling is from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
