Marsha Jontz Barkey, of Winona Lake, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, in the care of Timbercrest Senior Living in North Manchester at the age of 75. A beautiful soul has passed into Heaven, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she was born on Feb. 10, 1951, in Warsaw, to Elizabeth Jane Richards Jontz and Robert Samuel Jontz. Marsha was a proud graduate of Warsaw High School. Marsha Jontz and Philip “Phil” Barkey were married on July 30, 1972, and were blessed with celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary this year.
She partnered in both life and business with her husband, Phil. Together they owned and operated LRC Products, a nationally recognized wholesaler of engineered wood products, successfully marketing and serving a five-state region. Her generous spirit was matched only by her creative heart and love for her family. She found peace tending to her gardens, working on her cross-stitching projects and filled her home with music as a talented piano player. Above all, she cherished every moment spent making memories with her grandchildren.
A devoted member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren, she poured her heart into her church community. She shared her musical gifts of song and playing the piano. Marsha happily spent many of her Saturdays, thoughtfully decorating the church so it would be beautiful for services and special events.
Marsha is lovingly remembered by her husband, Phil Barkey, Winona Lake; two sons, Curt (Kristin) Barkey, Winona Lake; Ben (Dani) Barkey, Warsaw; and her two beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Ali Barkey. Also surviving is her sister, Linda (Jim) Chakos, Coronado, Calif.; brother-in-law, Ray (Deborah) Barkey, Goshen; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marsha with a service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Redpath-Fruth-Byers Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Dave Maxwell. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
