Marjorie Irene Vollmer Tinkey, 91, Warsaw, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus at 6:50 p.m. Feb. 25, 2014, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born May 30, 1922, in Bremen, to Urban and Cleo Schultz Vollmer. On Sept. 23, 1951, she married Forrest Maxwell Tinkey, who preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1993. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Litchfield Creamery in Warsaw. She was co-owner and office manager of Tinkey Oil Company for more than 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, yard work, watching basketball and spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren and her church family. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Warsaw, and was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Surviving are two sons, James (and spouse Linda) Tinkey, Warsaw, and David (and spouse Paula) Tinkey, Brownsburg; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Tinkey, Okawville, Ill.; Jennifer Tinkey, Napoleon, Ohio; Jamielynn Tinkey, Warsaw; Daniel Tinkey and Spencer Tinkey, both of Brownsburg; one brother, Maynard Vollmer, Leesburg; and five brothers and sisters-in-law: William Tinkey, Jerry and Sandra Tinkey, and Beverly and Andy Hoffer, all of Warsaw. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Louis Dale Vollmer. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Roger Rohde officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
