Marjorie D. Gast, 86, of 1066 N. Santorini Drive, Warsaw, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Feb. 22, 2012, in her residence.
She was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Etna Green, to Dale B. and Mildred Gay Anglin. On Dec. 4, 1946, she married Robert Gast, who survives.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she was a homemaker and a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was co-founder and past president of the Warsaw Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, was the 1981 Woman of the Year and she received the 1987 Salvation Army Exceptional Service Award. In 2000 she received the Kosciusko County Foundation Heart of Gold Award, and the 2003 L.N. Pete Thorn Award. She also was a member of Warsaw Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
Along with her husband, she also will be lovingly remembered by two sons, Rob (and spouse Nancy) Gast Winona Lake, and Bill (and spouse Mary Jane) Gast, Anderson; five daughters: Gretchen (and spouse John) Hartman, Bloomington; Ann (and spouse Tim) Pinnick, Leesburg; Maryjane (and spouse Jim) Myers, Claypool; Lilliana (and spouse Pascal) Clemons, Paris, France; and Maritza (and spouse John) Richards, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (and spouse Nina) Anglin, Dayton, Ohio, and Robert Anglin, Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Robbie Logan Gast, who died Oct. 5, 2011.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Erik Ohman. A private graveside service will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
