WARREN – Marjorie A. Blake, 81, of Warren, and formerly of Muncie, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Etna Green, passed away at 5 p.m. April 12, 2013, in Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. She was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Lynn, to Harold and Winnifred Brown Hutchens. On June 4, 1950, at Upland Methodist Church, she married Dr. Floyd Blake, who survives. She was the wife of a United Methodist pastor, where she served every church as a partner side by side with her husband. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school for junior high school students. She was a 1949 graduate of Ann Arbor (Mich.) High School and a 1979 graduate of I.U.-Kokomo, where she received her nursing degree. She retired as an RN from Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, and formerly worked at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was a prolific reader and traveled to all 50 states and parts of Europe. She and her husband went on many mission trips, serving in South Texas and at the African University, Mutare, Zimbabwe. She was always a willing hostess for anything related to church activities. She enjoyed sewing and baking, especially baking cookies. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Also surviving are two sons, Chuck (and spouse Vicki) Blake, West Lafayette, and Harold (and spouse Jennifer) Blake, Brownsburg,; two daughters, Lori (and spouse Jeff) Carpenter, Roscoe, Ill., and Lisa (and spouse Curt) Holmes, Union, Mich.; two sisters, Mary Hutchens, Mich., and Winnie Hamilton, Aurora, Colo.; and grandchildren: Marcus Blake, Riverview, Fla.; Jon Blake, Brownsburg; Tricia Holmesand Allyson, both of Indianapolis; Julie Baxter, Clarksville, Tenn.; Michelle Holmes, Fishers; Brian Carpenter, Chicago, Ill; Amber Blake, Mooresville. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathryn DeSaulnier and Mildred Mardison; and three brothers, David, Daniel and Herbert Hutchens. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Pointe - Applegate Chapel, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, officiated by Dr. Dale Mendenhall and assisted by Dr. Herbert Buwalda. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Eaton. Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Applegate Chapel. Glancy - H.
