SYRACUSE — Marilyn Jo Lantz, 85, Goshen, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen. 

She was born May 19, 1932, in Portland, to Russell Q. and Iva Iris Miller Steiner.

She graduated in 1950 from Leo High School and attended the Methodist School of Nursing in Fort Wayne. On Aug. 30, 1953, in Leo, she married James E. “Jim” Lantz, who survives. 

She retired on May 30, 1994, from Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville as a registered nurse. She moved to Syracuse in 1993 from Kendallville and moved to Goshen in May 2011. She also formerly lived in Anderson, Avilla, Kendallville, Elkhart, Hoagland and Muncie.  

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, and United Methodist Women.

She was survived by her husband, Jim Lantz, Goshen; a daughter, Ann (Agnes) Lantz, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Steve (Sheri) Lantz, Anderson, and Bill (Kathy) Lantz, Syracuse; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Griffen (Dorothea) Steiner, New Haven.

She was preceded by her parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, with visitation one hour prior, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with the Rev. Ann Lantz and Pastor David Henry officiating. 

Private family burial will be at a later date.
