GILBERT, Ariz. – Marian “Mally” M. Shellabarger, 93, formerly of Warsaw and Decatur, Ill., passed away peacefully Sept. 15, 2014, at the Lund Family Hospice Home, Gilbert, Ariz.
She was born in Decatur to George and Hazel Moeller. In 1942, in Denver, she married Joseph Shellabarger, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Decatur High School and attended Millikin University and the University of Illinois, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She spent most of her life in Warsaw, where she was active in Tri Kappa, Mothers Study Club, the Salvation Army and the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Carole (and spouse Randy) Lowe, Gold Canyon, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Shellabarger, Wake Forest, N.C.; and four grandchildren: John Shellabarger, Raleigh, N.C.; David (and spouse Tricia) Lowe, Centennial, Colo.; Doug (and spouse Jenny) Shellabarger, High Point, N.C.; and Elizabeth Lowe, Phoenix, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, J. Spencer Shellabarger, and a great grandson, Cameren Isaiah McIvor.
Private services will be scheduled at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
