Maria Carmen VuittonetBOURBON – Maria Carmen Vuittonet, age 87, of Tippecanoe, went to her heavenly home on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, while in the care of her family.
On Dec. 19, 1934, she was born the daughter of Vincente Espenosa and Antonia Rodriguez in Robstown, Texas. She was married on May 31, 1953, to Ernesto Vuittonet, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2003.
Maria will be missed by her daughters: Juanita Lambert, of Plymouth; Zulema (Hal) Shafer, of Tippecanoe; Alma Rosa Vuittonet (Larry Berndt), of Tippecanoe; Margarita (Henry) Espinosa, of Tippecanoe; her sons: Jose Vuittonet, of Tippecanoe; Homero (Vicki) Vuittonet, of DeLong; Vicente Vuittonet, of Inwood; Victor (Kim) Vuittonet, of Milford; and Ernesto Jr. (Marta) Vuittonet, of Vanderbilt, Texas. She was blessed with 33 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Maria Ester (June 30, 1958); her son, Martin Vuittonet Sr. (July 27, 2004); great-grandsons: Austin Martin Vuittonet (Nov. 26, 2008); and Jeremy Denver Green; along with five sisters and two brothers.
Maria worked as a janitor at Triton Elementary School and Grace Village Retirement Community in housekeeping. She loved making jewelry, shopping, Grace Village art classes, collecting cardinals, growing plants “with a green thumb” but most of all her family. She was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw and a member of the Cursillo Movement in her church.
The family will welcome friends to remember Maria on Jan. 26 during the hours of 10 a.m. until noon and then again from 5 to 7 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, with Father Jonathan officiating. Burial will follow in Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in her memory.
