CROMWELL – Margaret “Maw Maw” McClure Smith, 85, of Cromwell, and formerly of Fort Wayne, died at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 2, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 27, 1926, in Goldston, Texas, to Aaron Franklin and Nannie Verle Stone McClure.
She attended Fort Worth Public Schools. She lived most of her life in the Fort Wayne area before moving to Cromwell 14 years ago. She was a homemaker, attended Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse, and was formerly active at the YMCA in Fort Wayne.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan (and spouse Greg) Lee, Cromwell; three sons: Ronald E. (and spouse Joan) E. Smith, Fort Wayne; Clinton A. (and spouse Heidi) Smith, Lakeview, Ore.; and Timothy J. (and spouse Tina) Smith, Santa Clause; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Osta Belle Gregg, Grandbury, Texas; and a brother, Larry (and spouse Jetta) McClure, of Vernon, Texas. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a brother.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 11 at Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating.
